Journal gmhowell's Journal: Good news, bad news 15
Bad news: Joe still lives in Ohio.
Good news: I spent three hours with him today. Would have been four, but we were caught a bit short handed, and had no plans.
Given the latter, the day was as good as it could get, no matter what other things went on.
Spoke with Angie's father. He was essentially cordial (he's the observer for the visitation). Spoke with Angie. Even an email won't get you any info on that. And everything else is inside baseball.
Maybe more tomorrow, but probably not until Wednesday. Maybe. Need some time to reflect.

You're his father. Last time I heard you hadn't been convicted of domestic violence, child abuse, or sexual abuse. Where does the court get off treating you like someone who needs to be watched when you're spending quality time with your own kid?

Funny, you actually are acting in "the best interests of the child" but they'll probably try to take your acceptance of the consent decree as some proof that you're a horrible monster that shouldn't have anything to do with your own child.
But, they'll be more than happy to take your money. (In fact they'll make you legally liable to provide money...) I must say that this whole thing makes me incredibly upset and hope I never find myself in such a position.
