Journal gmhowell's Journal: I'm turning into another TechnoLust 17

First, I'd like to introduce my newest foe. Well, he foed me. I haven't decided whether or not to friend him.

Second... What the hell? I just got back from a bar. Three students (ladies) asked me to go with them to celebrate their passing today's motorcycle class. Seeing as how nobody was home waiting for me, I figured 'why not'? So, I had two Sprites. Each of the ladies had two beers. Jokes were told, laughs were laughed. A conversation about how grey hair is sexy on guys came up. I kept silent and basked during that last one. Email addresses were exchanged, as were warm hugs. And requests for further instruction on a few different topics were made (not all having to do with motorcycles).

Also talked about some upcoming charity rides. I don't care much for the group ride thing, but with the right passenger (these ladies are too new to ride groups) it could be fun. One was complaining about comfort. I mentioned the heated seat, the passenger radio controls, etc. I also let her know that I have a heated vest that its previous owner didn't take. It should fit right at the waist, but I'm not sure if it's big enough to zip all the way up:)

Damn shame about having to work tomorrow.

  • nice touch with the "not sure it will zip all the way up" bit. Classic Pandering (TM), which is incredibly effective when applied correctly (wait 30 minutes after application of pandering before swimming; not compatible with kissing up / sucking up or with complaining. Ask you doctor if Classic Pandering(TM) is right for you.).

Speaking of that last ehrm "side-effect" what ever happened to the cop chick?
        • She's still a cop in TN. I hadn't heard from her in a while and then she called me before I went to San Jose saying she was wanting to come down to visit me. The weekend she was going to come down, someone was out so she had to work. Talked to her a few times since, but not as much.
  • This reads much like a call I got today from my older brother, who got divorced about 6 months ago. It sounded like he had gone through a time machine and was 25 again, but with more money and a cooler apartment...

The three women were all interested in Harleys. When I pointed out some of the features, one of them said "[name redacted], you seem more like a BMW girl than a Harley girl".

      • Not knowing much about motorcycles... What's the difference? (In the girls, not the motorcycles)

Have fun George! :-D You deserve it!

The BMW lady is probably higher class and higher maintainance. Someone who wants/needs to be pampered a bit more.

Err, wait. Is that what I want?
          • So you are telling me that I married a Harley-looking lady with BMW requirements? Damn.... ;-)

To be honest, I think the "low maintenance woman" is a myth propagated by the greeting card and wedding industries.
              • Most probably....

I'm just pissed because today I said that with my new job I'll have less time for her and I have some work for her dad to do that I'll have to do in my spare time now. I said, I'm going to do it because there is a fucking high chance that he's going to help us finance a house (not going into details), so I'm fucking better going to help him with his IT infrastructure at his small business. (I'm currently troubleshooting a computer that controls one of his metal cutting robots). She was

Rant away, just don't drive drunk. Ranting can be a healthy expulsion of negativity. Or does it help build it up? Give it a week, and the psychologists will flip again.

Be careful. Part of the problems Angie and I experienced were due to my employment and the whole money situation.
                  • Well, I took a bottle of wine from my parents and put it on a wrong place in my car. When I opened the door, it fell out. So, no further drinking for Jts. Didn't bother going to the gas station, because it was alread 1am, and I still was planning to get DOS running on an old machine that still has an DB25 RS232 port.

I've certainly heard that. Don't know if it is true. And I may be overblowing the whole situation, but whenever I see a friend who is going through anything remotely negative in a marriage...

  • if the phrase "I'm going to ride you like a Harley on a bad stretch of road" is involved in any of this...
