Right? How is this even an issue? The article is very poorly written, and aside from this obvious issue it also inadvertently mentions time travel:

Butch and Suni will have to return inside the cargo section of a Dragon space capsule "unsuited," according to NASA leadership who spoke on the matter in a press conference next week.

With a manual you can keep the engine and transmission in the appropriate state for what you intend on doing and for the road conditions and terrain you are in.

While this may be true, it's irrelevant for 99.99% of all driving. Nearly all traffic is super predictable being just regular traffic on paved roads. Having a manual transmission is a hindrance in these circumstances. Very few drivers are good enough, and have the specific 0.01% use case to have a need for manual.

I can drive manual. It's what I learned driving on. I hate it, and I would never buy one myself.

My son was able to bring his Galaxy's Edge light saber as carry-on on an international flight this summer. The handle part of it is a pretty decent chunk of metal, so we packed that in our checked-in luggage.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the attraction. Storm troopers, and rebels walking around in character and interacting with guests. It's really well done.
