I want small phone! I want new one with modern chipset etc! But not 12 mini and 4S. Not Apple. Never. Ever. So I'm stuck with Sony XZ1 Compact, newest small phone (ok, maybe XZ2 Compact fits the bill too) that is available on the (now after-)market.

Good luck finding the modern one that matches existing ones in style and is cheap. Or maybe in USA all the switches look the same. Not so where I live.

The problem with n+1 razor blades is that the space between blades gets smaller and smaller and so everything you scrape off from your face will be stuck there after just one swing. Useless innovating. Only for marketing.

And the analog happens to oh-so-many products over the lifetime of now-old man. Thus the bitterness. It's not that we are scared of innovations, but yes, we've seen that _most_ of them is just plain useless bullshit.

And the innocent-looking guy behind the curtain is quite satisfied the higher-up and the underling unknowingly did exactly what was expected of them .. to achieve dominance.
