What the heck is all this nonsense?? Nobody was "fired". WTF is that all about? The Apache Software Foundation is comprised of 99.9% volunteers. Some of those volunteers are put into a decision-making position -- added to a Project Management Committee (PMC).

All that happened was that the Foundation Board removed one person from a PMC.

That's it, people. No firing. No censoring. One simple change of "who get's to decide" on that project.

And do any of you know of his behavior over the past five years? On the private backchannels? Hmm? Yah. Didn't think so. Don't get all judgmental when you don't even know the history. When you hear just *one* side of the story. Simple answer is that the other side of the story is "no reason to explain a minor decision about altering a PMC roster". And definitely do not talk about a person's behavior, in public.

Get off the high horse. The Apache Software Foundation still has 9000 other volunteers and 200+ other PMCs doing incredible work. One dude does some unwelcome shit on internal lists, and y'all go crazy. Lighten up, and find another topic to rage about.

Everybody in that issue, except for three, .. were part of our coordinated effort. Two people threw in comments that we had to delete (and if you look closely, are in the history). The third was likely aware, and his several comments supported our ruse, so they remained.

Our various tweets, including the two from @TheASF were (of course) coordinated along with the movement on the issue.

It was about a dozen of us, spanning around 14 hours. Many April Fool's pranks are "fire and forget". Keeping it *live* was our key. Many people, many voices, and many hours.

Hope you enjoyed :-)

Rossi does not want your money. He has solely funded all development of the e-cat with his own money: He has sold a company he owned, and he has now even sold his house. Peswiki asked him if they should set up a donation site for him, but rossi does not want that too. He also does not want to apply for FP7-ENERGY, a european research program for energy.

So Rossi either is a completely self-deluded man that manages to delude lots of other people around him as well, or he really has something working.

Apache tried that game for many years. Work *within* the JCP, and as a member of the EC. Apache *has* made many useful changes to the JCP and how it operates. But even with all that, it hasn't produced the JCK without an FOU clause.

At some point, enough is enough. The Apache brand name cannot continue to be associated with a sham.

Exactly. The Apache license provides freedom for developers to work with the code (pretty much) however they wish. It does not provide freedom to end-users (like copyleft/reciprocal licenses do; such as the GPL). HTC and T-Mobile are well within their rights to do something like this. It's uncool, but it is not a violation.
