Looks like it's just the writer of the article, Emily Dreibelbis, who drew the fake gold conclusion. The post referencing Mansa Musa in the thread she directly links to doesn't mention anything about fake gold.

Maybe she had an AI poorly summarise the thread for her?

Are all of your posts on this topic hypotheticals? From your posts about how the British caused the locals impoverishment so as to take their artefacts (conspiracy?), to how they would defeat the locals in war and genocide and then trade with them, to them (representatively) seizing people's homes to send to the British museum? Do you have any actual examples of any of these? Or are you perhaps buying in to hysteria of what you believe they were like?

The justice gov website doesn't mention abduction at all, though there was clearly a 28 years adult man with the 14 years girl in a probable sexual relationship.

This is the second time in the topic you've called copyright infringement stealing, but this time you've sarcastically corrected yourself. What's your issue with copyright infringement not being the same as stealing? Do you not understand why they are different things? With copyright infringement, I'd be making an unathorised copy of something. This could be me copying out a copyrighted book by hand, or it could be me using a computer to copy a copyrighted set of 1s and 0s. As long as I'm not removing a copy from an owner, it's not stealing.

Submission + - Coinbase Blocks 25,000 Crypto Wallets Linked to Russia Users (bloombergquint.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase said it blocked over 25,000 wallet addresses related to Russian individuals or entities that it believes to be engaging in illicit activity. The blocked addresses represent about 0.2% of Coinbase’s 11.4 million monthly transacting users, based on 2021 data. In a company blog, Paul Grewal, Coinbase’s chief legal officer, said the largest U.S. crypto exchange has banned access for sanctioned individuals and is using blockchain analytics to identify addresses potentially linked to them, which it also adds to an internal blocklist. “Today, Coinbase blocks over 25,000 addresses related to Russian individuals or entities we believe to be engaging in illicit activity, many of which we have identified through our own proactive investigations,” Grewal wrote. “We shared them with the government to further support sanctions enforcement.”
