It seems unnecessary to me.
I don't think the DMCA would hold, as a custom play server wouldn't (shouldn't) use any copyrighted materials. And interoperability is protected anyway. Not sure on what grounds a C&D could be enforceable. I think Nintendo is easily the most aggressive in this area, and even with the shutdown of play servers for the original 3DS/WiiU, an exploit has been published to play on alt servers and hasn't been taken down yet.

And there's a fairly good chance their lawyers would be laughed at. On what grounds would such a C&D be upheld?
The police aren't going to relinquish a tool they already have in their tool chest. Why else would it still be around 20 years later?
Same. I don't but smart devices that require a cloud connection to operate. Anything like that is on a clock. I've integrated Home Assistant, buy locally controlled hardware, and love where I'm currently at with my Smart Home. I have exactly two smart plugs I bought on short notice before I had HA that require a cloud connection, but if and when that service goes belly up, I'll just replace them with locally controlled smart plugs and oil only be out like $15.
A concept that doesn't seem to exist anymore in the good ol' US of A.
... or if it was racially motivated. If he was paid less for the same deal and had the same contract with IBM as the other sales person, they deserve to be sued and he deserves to be paid what he was owed.

Thanks for the civil discussion.
A couple things. First, this discussion has been about the treatment of kids already born, ie not citizens by birth. Second... have a kid and have it made? Man you act like we're handing out trucks full of cash to people that have babies. 6 in 10 kids that live with single mothers in America today live in poverty. That doesn't sound like having it made to me.
Tell that to the thousands of children that got lost in the system because of the lack of proper controls and have yet to be reunited. Entire documentaries are being made about this. Even after court ordered reunification, there are many children still lost in the system.

Another comment from me in this very topic post also state that denying welfare benefits to non-citizens is one option that is more humane than how things are currently being done. So no, don't conflate some far left perspectives with everyone like me who just wants better treatment of people fleeing terrible conditions.
No, moron. That's not what I'm saying.
