Journal Journal: No more Volume Logic

I've been a long time user of Volume Logic. Their real time normalization plug-in is one the big reasons that I continue to use iTunes as a media player. While most other options require analysis of the entire library and/or playlist, Volume Logic normalizes the music as it plays.

I learned today that Plantronics, who bought the software company a couple of years ago, is discontinuing the software and will provide no more updates or support. On the good side, their plugin finally works again for iTunes on the PC. (It's been broken since iTunes 7 was released.)

I guess it's time to get ready for the next and final break of the plugin. What software would you recommend to manage and play a large library of music that can also efficiently normalize the audio? I'm not willing to wait 10 minutes every time I add an album to my library for it to be normalized.
