Sure but a touchscreen Mac is evolutionary (even if they are playing catchup).

Did we learn from previous bubbles that borrowers need insurance?
When it spectacularly goes to shit, let's hope the insurance companies are insured. ( A relative used to work in 're-insurance', that is meta-insuring the insurance companies to doubly manage the risk. )
No bailouts.
they specifically prefer using their phones as little as possible
My digital life is Windows 11 at work and Debian at home, each with multiple external screens.
So phones are commuting devices, not computing devices. Navigation, camera, music, doomscrolling during public transport rides.
No doubt they're impressive pieces of hardware but not a primary computing platform. The only time I'd consider a foldable is if I didn't want to lug a 14" laptop around South America for 5 weeks on vacation (which, yes if you're relying on apps and mobile websites, sucks).
I'm still saving for a house. If I don't buy 300 of these and cut back on the smashed avo!
Me? I just wish they made compact phones again that didn't slide out of my pants pocket. 640x360
But I'm not part of the tiktok generation insisting on a 6.5" ultra widescreen slab phone.
Although... Industry once spent billions on Y2K.
Are we saying more than a quarter of a century later software engineering practices haven't improved re: testing and formal proofs and AI (sorry, Donald, SI) fuzzing?
I'd have hoped right-to-repair legislation would have forced device makers to open unsupported firmware before dumping it as abandonware.
It's the same jxl-rs library that Google co-developed with Mozilla for Firefox.
Dear Gemini,
Please paraphrase this GPT-inspired homework so that I sound like Copilot submitting my assignment at 11:59pm after consuming seven cups of coffee to keep myself awake.
So yeah C is well understood if you trust Claude to proactively prevent any nasties, perhaps.
We already have a half-finished Rust browser - Servo!
Yes, buying a Google phone to escape Google! Hence various folks are excited Lenovo are joining the effort. GrapheneOS has a laundry list of requirements only Tensor/Pixel could meet. The latest Snapdragon-powered Moto Signature announced this week does now.
Later revisions of the ARM spec, such as MTE are supposed to segfault when performing an illegal op in C code, you'd hope security bug reports would flow upstream to fix coding errors - their Wikipedia page lists a Bluetooth fault that was patched.
( But notably this hardening isn't on by default because consumers don't want their phone crashing unexpectedly? )
Curious from Moto is that they intend supporting this flagship device for 7 years - their low end stuff historically has NOT been well supported. Being frugal, I am tempted just to get a low end Samsung running bloated stock - they offer 6 years of security updates at least.
Yeah disappointed with Fuchsia. IIRC, they tried porting Chromium, Dart, Linux virtualization and the android runtime to run on the Zircon.
Aside from that Nest thingee, not sure why it never reached maturity, even as a flashable ROM for the Pixel 10, say.
I guess the future of microkernels is hobby projects like RedoxOS and SculptOS.
None, thanks.
If I need a virtual friend, I can open a tab and navigate myself to copilot/deepseek/grok/gemini websites.
Remember the backlash when you integrated Pocket?
I read the article, nothing.
Apparently we're supposed to connect the dots, Wordpress.

You model how a brain would respond to stimulus before training it on actual brains.
According to Futurama, by the year 3000 we'll have Richard Nixon's head in a jar running for the US presidency.
