Comment If you are sick, for christ sake stay home (Score 5, Insightful) 314

I don't want what you have. If you are sick stay home. This should have been obvious pre-covid, but now? Seriously, if you have any symptoms then don't come to work. If you are at the office, or on the train, or wherever, and you are coughing and sneezing, I'm not going to be thinking wow, what a dedicated person... I'm going to think what a jerk.

I would think Boston would be the perfect testbed as driving here is an absolute nightmare. With constant random road construction, inconsistent road markings, pedestrians crossing whenever they feel like, bikers not following the rules, a plethora of potholes, and other drivers who drive like idiots. if you can get a car to drive autonomously here, it should be easy anywhere else.

Most people struggle with basic math already, and you want to heap more on that? Stupid.

Indeed. Get rid of math. Who is ever going to need it anyway? And you can't do science without math, so get rid of that. That just leads to the global warning hoax and the questioning of God. God Guns and Guts! No need to teach history as it will just repeat itself. Everyone can get it on the next time around. Language is just going to change over time, so don't teach english. And why learn about other people. That has nothing to do with me, so get rid of social studies.

So where does that leave us? What can we teach that everyone will understand? Probably everyone can dig ditches. A shovel for every student I say. No need to waste tax dollars teaching useless skills. If parents want more they can spend their own money if they want their kid to get anything extra. They are just going to send their kid to some fancy gold plated highfalutin private academy anyway.

I've been annoyed by the microsoft login thing for a while and I discovered Rufus, the tool for creating a bootable USB install media from an ISO. During the process of creating the USB rufus can disable some of the annoying things about windows, like creating a local user and removing the need for a microsoft.com account.

Wouldn't it be more accurate to say that it exists in a state of both horse muck and not horse muck until said evidence arrives? Only then does the wave function collapse and you know if you have a box full of horse muck... or not.

can the state government legally prevent Bostonians from driving an hour to Providence, buying a car there, and driving it back home?

Massachusetts can make it damn difficult to be sure. A friend of mine bought a car from a dealer in Wisconson. We flew out to Wisconson, took posession of the car and drove it back to Mass. Well, to Connecticut anyway as Massachusetts was the only state to not recognize the temporary registration. Apparently some kind of local dealer protectionism. So in Conn we rented a uhaul with a car hauler and carried the car over the border to his driveway, where it sat for 3 months trying to get Mass DMV to process the title. I'm in favor of right to repair, but Massachusetts can be a super pain.
