International interest in American higher education has plummeted to levels not seen since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to new data tracking prospective student behavior online.

There must be something similar between 2020 and now ... what could it be? Hmm. What bozo-in-chief could be the same bozo in both cases? Hmm.

So frustrating that Texas mainly exists to host courts where the rule of law is destroyed, whether in terms of constitutional fast-tracking to get cases in front of Alito and Thomas, or these patent parasites. The software that I bought from Adobe stopped working and started trying to destroy my Mac. It was running and installing all sorts of daemons, and trying to remove the software would cause it to install more and more daemons, each of which was taking a few percent of the CPU capacity of the machine. Some of these were running with privileges apparently, and they were poorly written so I can only imagine how many security holes they were introducing. In the meantime, I couldn't use the software that I had paid for, and Adobe kept bothering me to pay a monthly fee for the software that I had already paid for.

Enshitification.

The Vision Pro is useful. I use it almost every day, between 2-12 hours a day. Mostly for work and reading/browsing, but occasionally for watching a video or TV/movie. I work in software development, and it's super handy for that: Massive 10m wrap-around screen that I can take with me wherever I go. When it was released though, this stuff didn't work. The Mac integration was terrible, and the iPhone etc. integration was non-existent. Now, the Mac integration is pretty good (almost 1.0 level), and the iPhone integration is still non-existent. For example, I'm wearing the Vision Pro and I look at my phone, and my phone is like "who are you, you weird looking monster?!?", even though the Vision Pro did a literal retinal scan on me to verify my identity. Similarly, I have to take it off to use Apple Pay on the computer (IIRC) because Apple Pay gets disabled if you're wearing the Vision Pro. Weird. Silly. Bad. They need to do a better job with integration, because it's actually quite useful already, and could get much better.

Unfortunately, this is the new reality. Soy prices are down for the same reason: Other countries stopped buying from the US because of our tariffs. So you're pointing out that trump is ruining the economy, right?

S&P is down 400 points (!!!) since trump's first day in office. You must have a Fox News definition of "market overall going up".

inflation is down

Trump's deficit-induced inflation was already coming way down from the COVID highs before trump came into office, so you'd expect it to continue to fall. The real question though is: How much is the inflation coming down because of the trump recession and our exploding trade balance? "Year-to-date, the goods and services deficit increased $189.6 billion, or 92.6 percent, from the same period in 2024." Put all the facts out there and let things fall where they may.

Sounds like Wikipedia.
