I live in Canada... I can tell you from first-hand experience that gun and stabbing-related homocides are way up over the past decade. My own children were exposed to gun violence while biking down the street of a very quiet suburban neighborhood... It's quite scary.

It doesn't matter how much you criminalize gun ownership... the criminals are still finding a way to get their hands on it. To make matters worse, I have yet to hear of anyone getting arrested for these attacks.

With respect to health care, people are literally dying waiting for treatment or being denied treatment altogether because it isn't cost-effective (per government judgement) to treat them. It's universal healthcare... but it's universally bad.

Is it better or worse than the US? I'm not sure. But you should be aware that it's very very bad. No one seems to have figured out how to fix the healthcare problem, worldwide.

I don't know what you're referring to exactly. Israelis have more children because they are (surprisingly) one of the happiest nation on earth and is very kid friendly. Young children kids walk around unsupervised and they are quite safe. If you were to try the same thing in North America, someone would call child services on you :)

The country is quite parent-friendly as well. You get long maternity leave and daycares are reasonably affordable.

Normally, you'd think that Truth has no chance going up against Twitter. You'd be wrong, but not for technical reasons... The fact is that Twitter has done a horrible job keep third-party developers happy for over a year now.

1. Their servers are unstable and break randomly all the time. Don't look for notificationis on their network status page, because you won't see it.
2. Their documentation says one thing, the implementation does something else.
3. Their documentation is full of broken links.
4. All the main use-cases of their API went from being free to cost *at least* $40,000 per *month*.

All in all, developers are massively pissed off at Twitter. Facebook isn't far ahead.

If Truth (or any other network) provides the exact same functionality, minus the developer pain, they might have a real chance of picking up.

It's funny how many pull out their race card to justify racism. First of all, we have no way of validating whether you are who you claim you are.
