Journal Journal: Malware cold war hots up

http://www.itpro.co.uk/blogs/editorial-blogs/davey-winder/938774/malware-cold-war-heats-up.thtml Look out, 400 bits of malware on a Russian IP server, linked to a swathe of Italian language sites created with IFRAMES pointing right at it, and the 10,000 infected PC Mpack multistrike exploit kit attack to test the waters a few weeks back all suggest the Russians are coming, ready to start a computerized cold war.

Journal Journal: Television for the blind

http://www.daniweb.com/blogs/entry1522.html File under who are they kidding. Sony is plugging a new TV set which it says is designed for the blind. I know of a few televisions which look like they have been designed by the blind, but not for. Turns out it is all to do with support for Audio Description. Think audio subtitles for the blind and you are nearly right, AD actually waits for gaps in the dialogue and then describes what is happening. Which would be cool if anyone, anywhere, actually supported it. Even in the UK where the law requires support for AD enabled output, it only requires the BBC to do so for 8% of its productions. In other words, what is the point of the TV for the blind if there are no shows that it can enable them to enjoy?
