Submission + - Is Twitter Censoring Wikileaks Trends? (osdir.com)

comforteagle writes: There are suspicions coming to the surface this morning that Twitter may be censoring Wikileaks related tweets from forming a trending topic. Why is still unclear at this point as during Iranian protests a short while ago twitter appeared to be in the fray of helping to spread the word. As of this morning it appears that Twitter may have some explaining to do. One of Twitter's engineers has chimed in over the weekend, but some aren't convinced.

comforteagle writes: Senator Wyden of Oregon has objected to a bill in committee that if passed would have given the government the ability to censor the Internet. His objection effectively stop its current passing forcing it to be introduced again if the bill is continue. Which it may not.Oregonians please send pats on the back to this man.

As if its court battle with Viacom wasn't funny enough, YouTube has now asked for testimony from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert - the faux newsmen whose exploits on Viacom's Comedy Central cable TV channel once made for prime viewing material on the video-sharing site.
