I think MS put their foot in their mouths with this promise.
I sure hope this guy or his lawyers see this.

Might be funny to see how much it'd cost to build an iPad from scratch based on these costs.
Agree a lot of this helps!
I read an interview with someone who joined Pogacar's squad in the last year, and was talking about how he almost never does any 'social rides' any more. That 'every ride is a workout and training ride'.
I think some riders/teams (maybe many or most) have actually been on the 'soft' side. LSD rides used to be the norm. Pretty sure that doesn't happen with the fastest riders now. (LSD = Long, Slow, Distance, and they'd often emphasize the S.)
I admit you can't rule this out...but there's also history to consider for some in the pro peloton. I'm not saying Pogacar's completely clean, he may be a doper, but in his defense he's been racing since he was 9, and has been extremely strong his whole life, crushing riders significantly older than him in his early youth.
So in his case, it's been pretty consistent with just how dominant he is in the sport. He's probably a freak of nature genetically, with a lot lining up in his favour, from endurance to recovery to being able to absorb a stupid number of carbs per hour.
FWIW after today's stage, he looked pretty tired. We've seen him as a 'mortal' in some instances as well, tho rare. It's similar with other big names (WVA, MVDP) - we've watched them grow up, and they have ups and downs.
It's certainly possible he's doping, but I don't think he's had much shade thrown his way either, and has been like this pretty much his entire life. Hope he's clean anyway.
And he's been much better to watch than dopers at least, he actually 'races', and takes risks when unnecessary, because he wants to 'race'. Rarely see that in the cheats too, fwiw.
Maybe, but as someone who runs a few sites that provide info (on vegan matters), I've noticed in the last 6mos my traffic has dropped pretty significantly.
If Google and others are poaching the work that people do, and results in non-visits, people are probably going to be less likely to even provide that info. (Because it starts to look like no one is interested in your website.)
I don't think that's a good thing.
Or how about running it on hardware that CAN'T take Windows 11?
There's gonna be a bunch of Win10 computers becoming 'obsolete' soon.
The fun thing would be how MS responds to this..maybe they'll suddenly have more 'relaxing' standards for Win11 instead of giving Google an easy path into home computers.
Thanks Google.
Is there a way to hack this? Set it to 100 charge cycles or something?
Doesn't take a crystal ball or time machine for many to see just how f'd the planet is, and that future generations are completely screwed in dealing with this mess.
No way I'd bring a kid into what's about to befall us.
Well, a big part of posting to Strava is to share with your friends, it's sort of a social media for active people, so by default it's pretty open, last time I set up an account.
There are lots of privacy options, but pretty sure you need to enable them.
But really I think the bodyguards are to blame. I don't know why they're tracking their physical activity while on the job in the first place.
I've been meaning to look into this, but may be a good discussion topic here - is there any sort of certification or agreement out there?
You know how there are badges on websites about non-profit transparency, etc, is there something like this for AI content?
I design websites for a living, and currently refuse to use AI tools. I also have my own websites with informational content, and zero AI usage, intentionally.
Anyone seen anything like this?
(And yes, if there is, it'll probably go to shit...haha..but for now it may serve a purpose in the 'early sincere stages'.)
A number of sites have pop-ups to 'get updates', presumably through the browser. (No email entered.)
I'm curious how this isn't exploited? Where the 'No Thanks' button isn't reversed, or both actually subscribe you?
I'll often avoid clicking on it altogether if I can...would prefer if there was an 'X' to close the pop-up. But those should be shut down completely by browsers too.
Yes, the user with the handle Vegan Cyclist wants to see animals starve.
No, Einstein, we need to stop breeding and using them for food.
It's compounded with corn when you consider that around 40% of domestic use of corn in the US is to feed livestock (who in turn generate even more greenhouse gasses.) A further 10-20% is also exported for feed elsewhere.
And get this, less than 2% of all corn grown in the US is eaten directly by humans.
....there's plenty of humans and livestock at least!
Farmed animals are a fantastic breeding ground for pathogens as well.
Just look at what's going on with the bird flu right now.
It's almost like there's a pattern with keeping animals captive.....!
