Comment Re:Microsoft pushing Win11 (Score 1) 105

Activision isn't making the calls here, Microsoft, which bought Activision, is pulling the strings in order to try and push more people to use Windows 11.

They pulled this crap back in the day with Halo 2 and Shadowrun being Vista only titles. I didn't care about Shadowrun as it had almost nothing to do with the RPG, and Halo 2 got to wait until I got Windows 7.

FTFY. You exclusively blame "liberals" for something that "conservatives" also do on a regular basis (lie and exaggerate). Congratulations, you have taken the wedge issue bait and made yourself a useful idiot for the people who actually run the show (the wealthy elites). As long as they keep us fighting each other they can do whatever they want with ease, as we're all too busy fighting to pay any attention to what they're doing to screw us all over.

I can save you a lot of money on that. It's because the liberals can't stop bringing it up.

Bullshit. Liberals wouldn't be saying anything about them if conservatives weren't vilifying and persecuting them.

Why is that "health of the mother" added

So that doctors aren't forced to wait until the woman is nearly dead before performing the abortion. Waiting until things are critical can also cause damage to the woman's reproductive system, preventing her from having any future children.

The most sensible criteria is that abortion should be legal for any reason unless the fetus is viable. At that point we can not allow it, with the exceptions of rape, incest, or health of the mother.

why are we giving well paid productive jobs to foreigners. programming is fairly easy, there shouldn't be a single foreigner in tech making under $200k. there should be a minimum of a PHD and $250k salary, only very very highly skilled H1Bs. everything else is just to lower american wages, a whole generation of young men who can't afford a house or a family, the complete destruction of the white race in america.

Just remember: it's not the foreigners who are taking away jobs; it's the Satya Nadella's who are doing that.

I just tried to install Win11 pro over Win11 home (fresh install, wipe everything) and that only worked after I added some file to the install disk.

To get Pro from a Home install you just need to give Windows the Pro key. The system will do a few things and reboot, after which you should have Win11 Pro.

If you think the government paid 70% of your tuition 30 years ago - I have a bridge to sell you. It simply didn't work that way, ever. In fact, most people in the 90's and 00's worked their way through school.

I got my BS in CompSci late 80's-early 90's, paid for mostly with Pell grants (there are advantages to having poor farmers for parents). The only loans I had was for the year I spent at the college dorms. The rest of the time I lived on the farm, so you could say that I was working my way through. I think I ended up with about $8K in loans.

My son got his BS working his way through college. He had 14K in loans at the end of that. He's going to grad school which is blowing his loan debt up big, but at the end he can add Dr. to his name.
