Dim, yellow sodium lamps fill me with rage. I am not sure that is the desired outcome. They also affect your color perception, which is less important at night, but still useful if people aren't going to wear reflective clothing.
My Jeep and RAM vehicles both have blank, unassigned buttons that correspond to features I didn't purchase. Yes, I know the reason is to point out to me that I didn't buy said feature. Why can't I assign those buttons to functions from the GUI?
If a government did it, it could be considered an environmental cleanup. However, yacht owners should be required to have insurance for this situation. It's called environmental liability insurance. I'm not sure if it's required by law, though.
I do think that the vandals are owed some compensation for their wasted effort. The telecom companies should be clearly labeling the cables. Failure to label cables is poor workmanship.
