Sure, just like Apple would quietly disallow updates and features from apps that compete with their products, and constantly re-write the rules of that marketplace to only benefit themselves. Its their store, sure, but I won't pretend they've been an ethical company, and I consider them just a little bit more rotten than Epic, so let them both flail away I say!

Sure, but that's just fine with me, worst guy beats up worst guy means the rest of us win. Apple has succeeded where microsoft failed, in getting people to love them while they use more "sharp business" tactics than Gates ever did. Epic does act pretty spoiled and ridiculous, Sweeney's tweets make clear where that perspective comes from, but Apple has been having it their own way too long. Hopefully they both tear each other up good (while impacting Unreal engine as little as possible).

Lol we're all moderators here friendo. "exposed a fuck-ton of corruption" I mean, are we playing pretends here? "Actual government-sanctioned censorship of legitimate, truthful information" Yes, they had presidential administrations reaching out to them asking them to follow their policies and bringing specific posts to their attention. Sometimes they did censor or change, sometimes they didn't. Considering that Elon had the "twitter files" released you can actually read what happens then in some of those cases. May I recommend reading them? They're full of corruption in the form of employees debating what is right and wrong in a scenario, and whether its to policy. That was never my understanding of corruption. That being said, businesses doing business are very often corrupt, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were. Would you think it was a smart thing to do to buy a business using loans, and then tanking that same business to impress your friends?

Comment "Crime-fighting software"? (Score 3, Interesting) 43

I love the term "crime-fighting software" like its Batman or That One Good Cop just trying to stop the Bad Guys in a mad, mad world (from all 80s movies). By "crime-fighting software" do they mean poorly implemented surveillance software, or do they mean glitchy "pre-crime prediction" software that tells everybody to lock up the poor and non-white in advance so they won't crime?
