A plus to using ixquick compared to SEs like http://www.ecosia.org/ is that they are ssl capable so you can use https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ixquick.com%2F so nobody but them sees your search queries.

If you're connecting with putty it implies starting of from a risky platform.

Otherwise it wouldn't make a big difference.
With enough resources session keys can probably be replayed either way.

The problem is that it doesn't matter how it looks.
