The Dutch Government today approved the construction license for the PALLAS reactor, a new nuclear reactor to create medical isotopes. The PALLAS reactor will replace the 60 year old reactor in Petten which produces about one third of all the medical isotopes used globally. Receiving the building permit is a major milestone as highlighted here.

In a follow-up of an earlier Slashdot story (http://news.slashdot.org/story/12/03/01/1915236/majorana-fermion-may-have-been-spotted-at-tu-delft), scientists at the Technical University of Delft in the Netherlands, today published their findings that they have indeed found the Majorana particle.
