I got back into biking after decades of not riding with e-bikes and also gained fitness. At first I was very weak and my pedaling wasn't adding much. Within a few months I had gained the ability to clearly add power with my pedaling for extended rides. Obvious fitness gains achieved from a fun activity. For people who are too far gone to even start the e-bike can be a lifeline.
