Yea always online did not work in 2012 ( ignoring their server issues for a second). In 2012 guite a sizable porson of the intended market was still on dialup ( included but not limeted to ISDN) and a lot of those connections if not all, where meteered, which meant you suddenly had an hourly cost for playing the game and fir those without ISDN you allso tied up the households only telephone line which was never popular

In a business mindset (not a legal/moral one) esp if your company is oleading cash. It is very easy for a ceo to lash out at OSS as intel user resorces to write said drivers, but seas no clearly labled revenye coming back, they sell wifi chipsets anyway and there is no breakdown that tells them we'll lose x salsa if we don't have the Linux drivers. so a documented expanse with no corresponding revenue, yea the investors that can vote the board (that sets the CEOs bonus) out won't like that. So tis is a chep shott to tell investors look we are cutting un insectary cuts, desperation make you do silly things

And why is spending 25 years in the same place considered bad. If this individual likes their job, is satisfied with their salary and their employer has not felt the meed to fire them in 25 years something is obviously working. What if the main point of a job is not to make the worlds most brilliant career, but rather to ake enugh to live comfortably ( something i would imagine you able to to if the starting salary quoted in the summary is an indicator) . Ok I might just be a lazy European but I say thst you work to luve, you don't live to work there is a significant difference

So let me get this straight, one fibre cable gets damaged and the internet goes down in large areas of a state? Now I'm not afan of fiering people for making misstakes, but the ones responsible for such a grairung single point of failiur in essential infrastructure ( this is 2025 I have internet on that list) needs to find a kess important job, or at least have a few weekes oayed leave for mandatory trainging.

This would probably also violate the polecies in place at any half way competent employer, which might inrefere with future selary payouts, your resulting lack of cashflow will definitively be appreciated by said landlod, as it is very lightly to interfere with yout anility to lay them,. Just politely point that out to them, I bet they'll reconsider their position rather quicly

Alsso since (most telescopes focus on really small peaces of the cosmos the local time used by us normal people is not prevuse enugh, they use sedirial time which is actually calculated acording to the observatories exact location ( on the east/west axses our coarse 60/30/15 minutes tzs would make their observations so far out of alignment as to be complimentary useless, not ideal when you ocupy very limited observation time on rather expensive instruments

No but noon ( has in the sun at its apogee) will just not accur on12:00 at evry location on earh, that is really all timezones does for us, ofc the 12:00 local time being the suns apogee is only valid during standar tine, as dst moves that pint to 13:00. I'm all for it,no more time zones and no more fing dst, get it done :)

Huh rent requiers it's own app, sorry whst kind of an od landlorf is thst, don't they justbsend you a standard bill you can pay sa usual in yje app from yourbsnk, you know the one hou would expext to use for banking servise , i must be missing sumething. PS hete in Norway we now get most bills as Eknvoce stright in our banks interface so we don't need to interact with any third party system to actually recieve the bill, is the app ffor rent you talktbabout fhe landlotds coustumer portal?
