It should be technically possible to have a recently accessed files feature that doesn't rely on that data being collected by a third party. There is nothing inherently wrong with collecting that data for yourself.

I'm sure engineers can come up with ways to waterproof housings. This can be a valid design choice in many applications. I don't know how well it would do on a 20GHz spectrum analyzer, though. It's definitely not going to replace everything, but they are not claiming that either.

Exactly. Harmful content will always exist, but the way it gets promoted is through feeds. Feed algorithms are created by companies, and those companies should be responsible for what they do. It promotes junk content that optimizes the engagement of the user and ad revenue.
