LOL, What broadcom is doing is a tried and tested formulae, you buy a product/company and you raise prices to milk the product till it is dead. They bought some of the most knowledgeable people in the world at doing this when they bought Computer Associates. There are a ton of options that are as good or better than VMWare now, but migrating can be expensive and slow, but make no mistake people are migrating on mass. I work with a collection of organisations and everyone of them has a VMWare migration in train.

Still a lot that are basically being held ransom. They are stuck with huge legacy farms that will take years to migrate away from. I work with one organisation that is desperate to get off VMWare as their bill is just on $50m a year now, but they are still a good 18 months away from being able to retire VMWare due to regulatory and certification requirements of the replacement systems.

It isn't about one size fits all, it is about 1 size saves you a bucket load of integration and maintenance costs. managing 10 different products, licenses and updates as well as there integration is hugely expensive. buying a product that is ok in all of those can save a business a fortune.

Then it is not better. Teams is a general use solution, yes there are better meeting products, presentation products, cal productrs, collaboration products, chat products etc etc. what there isn't is one product that does all that better than teams and implementing loads of different products to do all that is hugely expensive. Teams is average at moist things, but average is currently the best.

The average human is NOT a good driver. most think they are good but on average humans suck as drivers hence how significant accident reductions are. Hash trees and digital signing and encryption have been around long before blockchain and used to sign and track transactions on the stock market for decades. blockchain doesn't really add anything much to that.
