Journal blinder's Journal: I Forgot Just How Cool 4

old d.r.i is. listening to "suit and tie guy" right now. just seemed appropriate after the day i had (not a bad day... just surrounded by the people the song is about).

fuck... "four of a kind" was by far d.r.i's best (and really only worth while relaase... "thrash zone" was okay).

i mean... to be completely fair... d.r.i really did define thrash-metal.

of course... i had to follow that up with another great... but much newer band... most precious blood.

next... poison the well... hmmm... i'm sensing a pattern here. loud? yes. fast? somewhat.

oh yes! more yelling! snapcase. i love snapcase. loud... technical. tight. grass roots hardcore. lots of passion.

oh yeah... old school straight edge hardcore... strife. they are next. i remember seeing strife. fucked up shows they were. i dunno... i know it was silly... but there is just something so fucking cool being surrounded by about 2000 straight edge kids... knowing the club owner is writing the entire day off because he couldn't sell one drop of booze and the kids who smoke get dirty looks (poor goths... for some reason the goths always showed up at the straight edge shows. i thought it was cool... no problems... in fact i had a few friends who were goths... but all they did was bitch about "all the straight edge fucks.")

oh well. what's next?

hmmm... a bit of a change... twenty inch burial. melodic... emotional... screaming, yelling... tragic.

to round out this little playlist... with resistance. fast... passionate hardcore... a bit of melodic-ness. i am really liking this newer hardcore stuff.
