I thought it was US waste being our team who is monitoring it.
Exactly. That's all I've been doing lately. New Project, Start feeding Claude Code the notes. Build up the memory. Spec time comes, use him as a rubber duck, walking thru the whole process, we document everything first. I get a MD file, convert to a docx for the users, and submit. It's a good starting point, my ideas + boiler plate stuff from Claude. I could just give it to him to code out as well at this point, but I still need to go thru a review, and then there are contractors that need work....
So far this process has worked pretty well with me. There's still design in there. Like I'm the director telling the actors what we want, and then the giving the control over to them to interpret. What is nice though is I can ask if something is possible to do, and Claude can usually find out. It gives me starting options at least.
Just waiting for Rust#
Indeed. I built a Raspberry Pi Pico based controller for some flashing LEDs on my drone. It has red and blue LEDs and I wanted them to flash with the cycle of three short flashes then a pause; alternately the red LEDs then the blue LEDS. Took barely a minute to code that in python and dump it onto the board. In such cases it doesn't matter that the language is interpreted because the task is not demanding of the hardware.
The "Police Drone" still flies to this day!
How interesting it would be to do a drive-around with an open wifi hotspot in the car -- just to see how many LG TV sets try to connect and find out what data they send.
Just saying, for a friend
Yes... we could destroy Putin's nuclear torpedo before it even made it to the UK coast!
How long before the labels start going after new artists that sound like existing ones?
You know, where someone is "inspired" by a singer, a band or a songwriter that they've idolized for years and thus their own creations are heavily influenced by those artists?
If there's a chance for a new Lambo or Porsche in the corporate car park at EMI or WMG you *know* they'll be working on such law suits right now!
I've also wondered why there's no restriction on voice-actors who impersonate famous people -- but if you do it with AI then you are right in the firing line.
I'd also add an SDR to that kit... opens up a whole new world if you're needing it for a survivalist or prepper situation.
A cheap RTLSDR stick and wire antenna will do the job fine with one of the many SDR programs that'll run on the Pi.
Not going to happen!!!
Amazon is hoping to fly 80lb behemoths over populated areas to drop things from about 12 feet -- while all-too-often crashing into things. Of course to be fair, how could a drone possibly avoid an apartment building or a crane (twice). Last time it was a ladder strapped to the roof of a van.
These things are not only dangerous but hugely uneconomic. Nothing beats a gig-worker on an ebike!
Given how much of modern manufacturing is fully automated, why couldn't US companies compete on a level playing field with Chinese ones?
Tariffs simply allow domestic manufacturers to reap higher profits and/or continue to use inefficient processes to create an equivalent product.
Perhaps the motto of the USA will eventually become: "Tariffed into mediocrity"
These drone delivery services that have to operate in line-of sight and comply with a gazillion FAA regulations are doomed to failure. You could deliver the order faster using a trebuchet over such distances and with fewer liabilities or costs.
Manna Aero has moved to the USA for its trials because it effectively had so many problems in it's home of Ireland and Just the other day another 85lb Amazon drone crashed and burned.
Given the costs, both from a hardware, labor and systems perspective, they'll never compete with a gig-worker on an ebike.

Johny who?
I wrote a lot of assembly (back in the day) for both the Z80 and the 6502. The Z80 was like a Mac truck. It had some really powerful instructions (LDIR etc) and a great register-set but the 6502 could be a lot faster on one condition -- that you had space available in page zero to exploit the indirect addressing mode that relied heavily on the first 256 bytes of RAM. The Z80 had the advantage that it had on-chip support for refreshing dynamic RAM so systems with more than 4K or so of memory were much easier and cheaper to build using a Z80 than a 6502.
If you were building and programming a system from scratch then the 6502 was the obvious choice but if you were programming a "store bought" 6502 system such as the Apple, Atari or Commodore, many of those valuable first 256bytes (page zero) were already in use by the ROM-based system software so things became a bit trickier.
Ah... happy days.
