What I hate is how movies appear and disappear and the movies I really want to watch are nearly impossible to find online.

Of course there's always other options... It's always nice when the illegal option is both cheaper, more convenient and a better product.

I hate to agree with the illegal option, but it unfortunately happens to be the truth.

Being a US citizen myself and being prone to major dangers by international terrorists...WTF US government has no right to be in ANY outside banking system. As a government, the US has had theirs hands in way too many other countries banks, military, privacy, and just about every other damn thing. Normally I can make quite compelling statements that make complete sense and sound quite intelligent. This piece of my mind is somewhat difficult because it is a subject that just pisses me the hell off. The US needs to get out of all of your countries and concentrate on home and let others live as they want. If someone asks for help, that's one thing. But us jumping the gun (literally) and creating our own personal war is outright ridiculous. This has become a rant. My sincerest apologies to anyone who read this expecting more. please read on to other people's replies for more intelligent and relevant statements

I tried out the Photoshop package. It actually has a lot of info and tutorials in there. However, from watching and reading ads, it seemed that it would be a reasonable price. I wasn't notified of the nearly $200 charge for it. I called theem and told them it was a rip-off and false advertising. They gave me my money back AND let me keep the course. That really surprised me.

Comment Windowblinds & iTunes resolved! (Score 1) 570

I ran into this. It was telling me that I had to de-authorize my computer in iTunes and uninstall it. I just did the de-authorization and re-enabled it after the upgrade was done. The main ssue I had was that it REQUIRED that Windowblinds be removed. This drove me nuts as I uninstalled it, removed all mention of it in the registry, and deleted every file I could find in relation to it. Even after doing all of this the installer told me I still needed to uninstall Windowblinds. After no help from Stardock, I uninstalled the entire Object Desktop suite. It seems that the My Colors has a bit of Windowblinds built in and needed to be removed. This was a Stardock problem. The systerm skinning is done a bit diffferently in 7. I also had to uninstall Fences. I thought that would be safe to leave on dfor the upgrade. I was wrong. It caused explorer.exe to crash and restart at 10 second intervals. Turned out tha all I needed to do was to uninstall Fences and reinstall it from scratch. It now works perfectly. I am also using the Keyboard Launchpad from Stardock with no problem as well. I hope my nightmare of upgrading helps some of you. I am using 64bit Ultimate. If anyone needs any help feel free to cotact me directly at 'win7help at 2muchh8red dot com'. Good luck, everybody!

Open Source Textbook For Computer Literacy? 95

dcollins writes "The college where I work has decided to forego ordering a textbook for the computer class that I teach this fall. Does anyone know of a free, open-source textbook for basic computer literacy concepts (overview of hardware, software, operating systems, and file systems)?"

I must agree with all above my post. You could also create an alternative profile (I know it was mentioned already, but this is the kicker) and put as many add on programs (only safe ones, of course) and make the experience so miserable for them that they never ask to use your laptop ever again. If they ask why it runs so slow and bad, just tell them that you never know what could be on anybody's memory stick and you are taking proper recommended precautions as listed by your friendly neighborhood, or personal, computer guru. I hope that help. You can even reference me as the guy who told you to do it. I'll take the heat. ;)

I have to admit to buying multiple copies of games due to memory failure of the brain. I just give the old copy to friends. I own over 100 Xbox360 games, 70 % of those I don't play anymore. 20% that I never played after buying them, and 10% that I tend to rotate by the week or month. My PC collection is very similar as th 360 as far as the percentages go, but the number of games is considerably higher (around 250ish, possibly much higher). I buy new games on Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive and at Gamestop, along with other stores that may have a good deal going on. I'm also obsessive compulsive. I guess that makes me a freak and also a beloved customer to many game companies :) (I don't mind that)
