it makes a whole lot of things cheaper and easier (telescopes especially), and those missions take years if not decades to get ready.

Those cheaper and easier things will take much less time to develop.
All the complex mass and size optimisation will be vastly reduced.

I would hope they are working on these missions right now, but there likely aren't enough corrupt politicians behind them yet.

People who do that are often wrong.
They are often blinkered woke cunts like yourself.

Starlink satellites may have separate control and datacomms systems. So bricking the datacomms system would not affect the control system, and Spacex would easily be able to detect the hacking.
