I'm going to miss her writings. She was an important voice to me, and was part of my list of good things about Texas. I met her briefly at the "March for Women's Lives" in Washington DC in 2004 and was as impressed by her in real life as I was impressed by her persona in writing.
Heh. I saw Wellstone in person once, during the runup to the 1992 Presidential campaign. I had somehow managed to be elected by a Democratic caucus to the district delegation, and in the midst of all the blah-blah by various speakers for various Presidential candidates, Wellstone showed up and gave a rip-roaring speech. How such a little person (he was short) could electrify a room like that, I don't know. Hell, I don't even have the foggiest what he was ranting about anymore, but he sure fired people up.
