I don't know why you're concerned about what happens to the Mac, the whole Mac vs. windows vs linux/unix workstation has been dead now for some time. We now live in a fully connected world where most users are connected through web browsers and are the intended victims.

And the entire computing model itself in fundamentally broken. We need a model where nothing is permitted except what is explicit based on identifying who you are, an identity that is distributed and internet-based. We've known this has been needed for decades and there have been tepid attempts, but exploitation is too profitable and we are seeing the consequences.

Of course, people will decry big brother, but the consequences of big government are nothing compared to the consequences of no government...that's what we are seeing. Brazenly, actively subverting EVERYTHING is the plan, people need to wake up. Apple's not going to save you, they're too busy slurping Trump's b-hole. They're doing a nice job with processors too, but that doesn't mean they aren't the enemy. Silicon Valley plans to exploit you and discard you.

No user should ever install software like this for any reason. The greater concern is how vendors will sneak this garbage onto systems despite users' best efforts.

Your solution is more unconstrained social media? Have that "Telescreen" feed even more?

Except it's not. Bad is bad, censorship is neither good nor bad. It is what is censored and why that is potentially bad. And there isn't censorship here, only the OP's bogeyman.

And with AI and social media, lack of government oversight IS GIVING TOOLS TO THE OTHER SIDE.

But to solve these problems, we don't need "Marxism" and we certainly don't need your bogeyman, we only need responsible regulation of capitalism to ensure free markets. This a problem of lack of free markets.

And you aren't protected by preparing your own meals either, groceries get the same treatment...as does the rent on the apartment you increasingly can't afford.
