Loudly support terrorists or terrorist organizations or smuggle drugs, and consequences should indeed find you anywhere in the world.. regardless of your profession.

The CIA world fact book told us that the USA is a center for money laundering, a primary consumer, producer, and trafficker of illegal drugs, a major source of illegal arms... I guess that's why they had to shut it down. We are the terrorists.

I would have told them to get fucked and immediately started looking for a new bank.

You think you're going to find a bank which doesn't require vendor-provided app security?

Seems a very odd situation where you'd lose access to your own money simply because the bank doesn't like your OS.

It's extremely normal for banks to have requirements like these. Mine has informed me that my Android version is too old so I will lose access next year or so. They've been trusting this device, but it's now becoming a pumpkin.

"firing" someone is much, much more difficult even in "at will employment" states.

It's easy when managers manage. Then they have ample records of why someone is being terminated when it's justified. Further proof that most management is worthless.

On some level I can't blame the companies that do this because as long as they can hoover up a bunch of warm bodies to restock their shelves, they won't change their company culture. The applicants are validating this toxic behavior.

Under capitalism, people need jobs so they can live.

There are literally thousands of applicants for any decent position.

The solution is not as simple as your reductionist thought process.

This varies tremendously by location, and always has.

Oh yeah? Where are there more unbuilt zoned lots available than there used to be?

Perhaps the biggest factor is that Americans are far less willing to relocate than they used to be.

They aren't. They're less able to afford it. The spirit is willing, the wallet is weak.
