Why make life easy for AirBNB community smashers. Owners of such properties ARE running mini-hotels and denying land-use/housing  to real residents. Instead of shelter for full-time residents AirBNB creates  drug-addled adult  vacation-toys for the upper-mid class. Is that act basically  wrong?  Yes ... in that nearby rental properties decrease land/aesthetic  values for nearby permanent residents --- see < Isle of Palms SC  > for a prime example, where proliferation of AirBNB-type housing culturally  raped the local community.  Of-course ... no moreso than a resort in the Poconos or Sierra Nevada. But, the distinction should be perfectly clear, between residential  and recreational properties ; things like tax-rates, professional services and maintenance ought to reflect that difference. AirBNB owners want it both ways ... hotel+ income while shoving maintenance on visitors. I'd stop that right now ... as well as allowing ANY AirBNB properties within residential neighborhoods.
