AGI is not jargon.

What? Yes, of course it is.

It's to distinguish an important milestone from the original term, "AI," that has become a marketing gimmick as opposed to the technical term.

Yes, it's a technical term used for technical reasons, which is why it's jargon.

It's a site for smart people, who tend to be reasonable, and not unhinged, gratuitous, hateful assholes on social topics.

I used to think that, before I found Slashdot.

The hardcore reich wingers were always here, they were just not quite so loud.

The current management will do nothing to rein them in, even if they disagreed with them which they probably don't since they're cryptobros which usually means they're libertarians, and also think they're the smartest guys in the room because they jumped on a scam early.

This shouldn't have been modded troll.

The DNC threw a prior election by sabotaging the primary process to sabotage Sanders, who the majority of polls said could win, so they could run Clinton, who the majority of polls said would lose.

Then they threw the last election by campaigning with a Cheney (who was NEVER going to change ANY minds about ANYTHING) and refusing to change their minds about funding genocide so they could keep that sweet AIPAC money coming.

I believe that virtually all of the politicians who care about The People are Democrats, but I also believe virtually none of the Democrats care about The People. Dark? Cynical? Yeah. Unwarranted? I don't think so.

Even the ACA has profit for health insurance corporations written into it. They have literally no purpose but to try to kill us for profit, but their profit is in the fucking law. Someone please explain to me why I'm supposed to be thankful for a law that rewards those who want me dead, and drives up the cost of health care by tying insurance company profit to the cost of care. Thanks.

It's not necessary, it could have the same or similar performance using a module if it was near enough to the SOC. But it would cost more, so you could reasonably say it's necessary to hit a cost target. And it would be larger. But apple doesn't pass the cost savings on to the customer, so only one of those arguments is reasonably compelling from the customer's viewpoint.
