Journal Xerithane's Journal: BF1942: Desert Combat v0.3alpha 7

This mod is quite possibly the coolest thing I've seen done outside of Half-Life.

Download off of nerdfarm.org Download is available now (and fixed, forgot to set permissions, sorry.) Enjoy! (Please do not post anything anywhere to this, if I notice referrers coming in from anywhere but Slashdot or sources I have given it to I will shutdown the download. And yes, I will be watching.)

I doubt I can play tonight, but I will play a few games tomorrow. Unless I can get GF approval for tonight, I will be absent.

Read up on the mod here.

It's solid, well-playable, and I played it last night for a few hours and it was fucking beauty on the screen. I crashed the Apache a few dozen times, but I'm dying to try my hand in the Blackhawk.

It's a shame you aren't man enough to live out your interdimensional action adventures in real life.

Be a man and get a Ph. D. in advanced particle physics, get a top-secret++ clearance, work your way up to an honest-to-god "next-level" project, wear a hazard suit, and go work for the "g-man".

PS. Wait a sec. Is that right? "An honest-to-god"? Somehow that sounds better than "A honest-to-god". I must be a freak.

I've actually never played Half-Life, only Counter Strike

I've already worked for the government, I prefer the private sector, thanks :)
      • I highly recommend Half-life, Half-life:Opposing Force, and Half-life:Blue Shift. If you enjoy story-based single-player FPSs, these three will knock your socks off. They've got a better story than many movies. I think you can pick up all three for under $25.00, and they'll run on a P166 with a voodoo card.

I only play multi-player games, if I was going to spend the time detached from people I would be programming or relaxing. I get more satisfaction from shooting other people :)
    • "an" is correct. so you're not a freak unless i am, too. wait, this doesn't look so good for you now that i think about it. anyway, it's the sound, not the spelling, that counts. "a used car" "an herbal tea" (i know in British English you would pronounce the "h" in "herbal," but they often use "an" with h-words anyway.)

PL/I -- "the fatal disease" -- belongs more to the problem set than to the solution set. -- Edsger W. Dijkstra, SIGPLAN Notices, Volume 17, Number 5
