Comment Switching vehicles to batteries is NOT the answer (Score 1) 132

I wish we could get the government out of this and the oil tycoons out of this and anyone making money in oil out of this and just convert every vehicle to hydrogen and get past all of this once and for all. Producing non chemical hydrogen is easy and we will never run out. Continually switching vehicles to batteries is NOT the answer and it will never be able to achieve total carbon neutrality!!! ... and lithium minding is bad for the planet and battery disposal is toxic. Burning hydrogen makes water and that is safe for everyone!! All you electric car supporters just stop and start demanding hydrogen gas cars!! Note: Not fuel cells with batteries that defeats the purpose!! Hydrogen Gas Burning Cars!

Comment Cimate Change is More Complicated... (Score 1) 216

The only reason that the electric car has any traction is because if you own one you "FEEL" like you are doing something. The problem is that the car is NOT the root cause of the problem. All the emissions from vehicles only totals 4% of the problem, so going all electric will NOT solve climate changes. We need to tackle the major causes of this problem but there is NO "FEEL" good and in many cases people will NOT want to give something up they love to help. Some of the worst emission problems are BEEF at 11% of the problem, PORK at 9% of the problem, DAIRY at 8% of the problem, POULTRY at 6% of the problem, PLASTIC bottles at 6% of the problem, and CONTAINER ships with 6% of the problem. The production of a single product listed causes more emissions than all the vehicles but many do not want to give up eating beef, pork or chicken and everyone loves their bottled water and soda. And with that everyone loves the inexpensive goods from overseas. There is no incentive to tackle the real climate change problem, so they go after the fossil fuel burning vehicle, again which study after study has shown to only be 4% of the problem. To make this much worse the fossil burning vehicle vs the electric car has also shown that there is almost NO change emissions leaving the vehicle emissions still at 4%. Once you count for the cost of making vehicle and the batteries, the mining of the planet, the destruction of land and of animal habitats and the pollution most agree this is not the best thing for the planet. This doesn't even take in account that much of the electricity produced to charge the electric car's batteries is produced by fossil fuels. Not to mention all the maintenance electric vehicles need which typically is done buy diesel burning machines/vehicles/generators. Then there is battery replacement, the disposal of the batteries is extremely toxic and contaminates land and water supplies. You also have to consider what the government gets out of all this (mostly your money) and how the BEEF, PORK, DAIRY, etc. industries will fight to the death to hide their emissions issues rather then have people stop buying their products.

The issue I have with this is it took years to get HR to allow these certifications in place of College Degrees so by Microsoft retiring them they are going to hurt many people looking for work where they cannot use their certifications in place of a degree. Microsoft should NOT retire them just state the originals are GOOD FOREVER like a college degree. This is like Yale saying we have changed our degree program so your degree is retired and we have a completely new program and new degree. HR Departments will change to the new degree and the old one will no longer be valid for a job. I know so many techs that have spend a tremendous amount of time getting their certs and a lot of money too. This is not FAIR! Microsoft please reconsider and make the certs valid for life!!
