NTP. That's it. Have my oven's clock automatically set the time, adjust for daylight saving time, and pretty much nothing else. Why can't that just happen? I can't turn off the clock display and the time is always a little bit off no matter what I do but it is connected. I'm not sure why it is connected but it is...

Sounds like you think people actually pay attention to the road while driving a car that mostly drives itself. Do you have any evidence that a stick shift detracts from what matters most (aka driving)? It is my opinion that having to pay attention to the actual physical act of driving keeps you paying attention to driving. I drive a stick and ride a motorcycle. Both require me to actually pay attention to the act of driving as well as what appears in my path. Also, I find it a little difficult to be holding a phone in your hand while driving a stick. Same with riding a motorcycle.

Ummm maybe that's because you weren't a priority. The 9's were given to the people who didn't need to call their mothers but needed to land a plane. Apparently you needed to prioritize properly and your mother was probably better off without your phone call. Especially if she was on a plane.

Comment Waste of wealth (Score -1, Troll) 171

I was born in Sacramento and have watched my state degrade into chaos and filth. With all the property tax, income tax, sales tax, gas tax, breathing tax and yet the state is falling apart. The weather is nearly perfect yet the roads are pitiful. They pay about the most per student but the rankings are near the bottom. What a waste of a good state.

That's not the only way. There are large numbers who travel from harvest site to harvest site for seasonal work. Even in Florida the oranges don't come ripe all the same week. For harvest season, there are all kinds of different plantings of the same crop and of other crops that can keep pickers occupied for quite a long time. These visad pickers are called either seasonal or migrant workers depending on context. They are required to not stay in an area too long as per their visa requirements but are not required to leave the country immediately. Also, not just Mexicans do this. That's pretty racist right there.

My health insurance company is a non profit. How does that work on with your ideas of massive profits? Also, I have family and colleagues in Canada. It is not nearly as good of a system that people here are claiming. It is more comparable to America's VA health care.

Except that those were changes made to the Constitution by this little thing called an amendment. You know those pesky little things called procedure? Yeah, following then seems hard for our government and even harder for people to understand. It is illegal to change the Constitution without an amendment. Most of what the federal government does is prohibited by said Constitution yet laws were somehow passed and allowed.

Everyone, eh? We still have people that legitimately believe we live on a flat earth. You can show them the live feed from the ISS and they'll tell you it's fake. More on-point: We still have people that legitimately believe the 2020 election had enough fraud that it changed the outcome, with absolutely ZERO proof of such widespread fraud.

While I agree with this statement, the problem is that, because of machines like these and a few actual cases of known fraud (not systemic but definitely sensationalized), we also have absolutely ZERO proof that there wasn't widespread fraud. We have no trust in the process, at least in the minds of the general public. That, right there, is a travesty unto itself as it will dissuade voters from showing up at the polls. "Why bother voting if the system is rigged?" and that is awful. We need to have 100% surety of our election integrity. Burn these Interweb connected devices and use something that takes actually accountable humans to monitor and validate the process.
