There was one guy we had, every time I came across any of his code I just immediately deleted it. If it even remotely worked it was usually an accident.
You can easily tell who isnâ(TM)t a software developer in these comments. I too immediately thought âoeoh well of course theyâ(TM)re disabling them thatâ(TM)s a security nightmareâ when the reports started coming in before Apple said a word about why.
Now is money an ulterior motive here? Of course it could be. If it wasnâ(TM)t theyâ(TM)d probably just lock PWAs to Safari.
Oh, that's all, is it.
Yep, you're right 1 hour max
Browsers are the most insecure attack surface of any aspect of modern computers. Apple's s/w is built using standard engineering decision-making - can we rely on X being there ? Why yes we can, so we can delegate this function to that system framework which we've tested is all secure.
Except that all breaks down when someone installs a 3rd party browser. Now the security model of the system depends on the security model of the installed browser, and that's just not acceptable. It may be the user's fault that they installed but you can guarantee that Apple will be holding the can at the end of any argument over why their nudes are now all over the internet.
Freshman year in high school there was a classmate of mine who still believed in Santa. The other boys found out and just literally ruined his entire worldview in the span of a few minutes in a brutal fashion. He literally ran crying out of the classroom. So yeah, it happens.
Actually 12 will probably be the one to upgrade to. Windows is on the tick/tock cycle. XP good Vista bad. 7 good 8 bad. 10 good 11 bad.

As a Kia owner with an immobilizer, this is my fear. No one is stealing my car because of this trend, but I'm just waiting for the day my window is broken out so someone can try it...

Youâ(TM)re only modded +1 right now, and this should be higher than +5. I know thatâ(TM)s not possible, but this is the exact right answer.
They apologized and reversed this yesterday.
Not just AmEx. Thereâ(TM)s a whole slew of businesses that qualify to get automated expiration date changes with all the major credit cards.
My dad had a Bronco back in the day with two gas tanks he could switch between, and when heâ(TM)d park it heâ(TM)d put the lever in between either position which effectively did the same thing, left the car essentially on empty though the fuel gauge would show it as a full tank. Helped him recover his car three times when it was stolen, they never made it more than two blocks.
Thatâ(TM)s fine and may be true, but:
A. As we were taught as kids, if everyone else were jumping off a building would you?
B. Doesnâ(TM)t magically make it not spyware
