and I got pulled over in late August because the officer "couldn't read my license plate". Admittedly, it was faded because the car sat for a few years when I was out-of-state. I'm sure there was an ALPR involved because a human with average vision could still read the plate. I'm convinced it was one of these cameras that "couldn't read the plate", not the human. Got a ticket for that.

There is absolutely no safety benefit to having an AM radio built into your car. I could not have been clearer about that in my post. There is absolutely nothing a car's AM radio can do that an emergency AM radio in the back of your trunk can't do just as well or better.
