We would make a jump back in time, where every town or country had it's own local time. Look for railroad timetables from the 1800's or 1900's.
Like many wrote it before in the various comments, it doesn't make sense.
In this synchronized world, it would be a nightmare to setup a meeting across timezones and shifted local times...
On top of this, you would instantly render a lot devices obsolete that are not synchronized with an external source, or which do not accept update timezone tables.
Just use the "KISS" principle = Keep It Simple, Stupid. One timezone, no DST....
Soon you will be able to login on github with the hotmail email account you created in the 90's... Gross....
...and make a nostalgia movie on it for youtube, hoping that it still connects to the internet.
See what's happening to those old Apple II, TRS80 or Commodore Amiga...
Maybe you will be getting a lot of $$$ from ebay auctioning it
We use the combination of Microsoft Lync, where you can start a common whiteboard, and a Wacom Tablet, so you can do some freehand drawing.
It is not free. But the cost is offset after one meeting with members from all over the world...

Or buy what remains of Blackberry and use that as a basis... The future will tell if this buy was fruitfull... MS missed so many opportunities in the past...
With the strong influence Microsoft has on big corporation's IT (Exchange/Office/Outlook) it would not surprise me that within one or two we would see strongly integrated phones for those corporations. If they make some attractive, usefull and secure phones (Nokia WP are hardware wise very attractive...), Microsoft could wipe out Blackberry.
In fact AMD has an amazing technology portfolio. Having graphics chip (ATI Division), the hypertransport technology and AMD64, we can expect some interesting developments
In today's times where you need a Visa to enter the US, a lot of people bypass it. In the past it was difficult to fly from let's say South America to the Far East, because everybody had to fly via the US. This is a thing of the past. You can now fly via Dubai or South Africa. You can even do a round the world tour without stepping on US territory a single time, but went through all continents.
With the Visa requirement, the US tracks foreigners. With TSA, the US tracks it's own citizen...
A way to increase income from international phone calls.
Can be circumvented by letting the internet phone provider calling you on a land line (free) or a cellular (with a small surcharge).
Even more ironic would be when US Cosmonauts have to enter French territory (French Guyana is part of France) and board a Russian launch vehicle.
Do you have the appropriate travel documents???
Always try to do things in chronological order; it's less confusing that way.
