Comment Re:This will become more transparent (Score 3, Informative) 45

The best numbers for streaming minutes would come from the "heartbeat" events that a device sends back to the service to tell them where the user is in the video, so they won't loose their place if the app crashes. (Some apps are good at just sending an API call when the crash happens)

Comment FM coverage is spotty (Score 1) 85

Around here, the mountains make FM coverage spotty. AM never fails.

AM receivers are cheap and reliable. I think they should continue to me mandated in cars as a last-ditch mass communications method. If there were some licenses available around here I'd grab one and build a station. Alas....

My guess is they knew they needed to seed this to developers, but they knew there would be a black market where the public would want it. So they set the price high enough to cover initial costs, let the public get their hands on it, but then create time for the devs to come up with killer apps. I think the lack of a marketing and advertising presence shows Apple isnâ(TM)t pushing Vision as hard as they could.

Iâ(TM)m sure we are going to see cheaper and refined versions of Vision in the coming years, and those are the ones they have the potential to take off.

Comment Dark Matter disproven. (Score 1) 44

Dark Matter fails to explain the orbital dynamics of Proxima Centauri. Our closest celestial neighbors are very observable. Quantized Inertia defeats Dark Matter again and again. Sometimes you will see articles referencing MOND as defeating Dark Matter, and MOND is a step in the right direction but it has too many unexplained constants and weak theoretical underpinnings and doesn't stack up against QI in predictive versus observed. https://ancillary-proxy.atarimworker.io?url=https%3A%2F%2Facademic.oup.com%2Fmnrasl%2Farticle%2F532%2F1%2FL67%2F7682393

Being pedantic here, but the FCC licenses broadcast networks like NBC-Affiliates, ABC-Affiliates, etc. Most of the major networks don't broadcast over the air to local TVs - they broadcast via satellite to their affiliate network stations who then require an FCC license to re-broadcast that signal locally. Some major networks do own local TV stations that have to be licensed, but the "networks" themselves do not.

Comment Let's send two Boeing executives to bring it back (Score 1) 105

Boeing is all butt-hurt by complaints that their Starliner isn't safe for NASA to use to return the astronauts. So, since we're sending a Space-X flight up with two empty seats, let's put a couple of top level Boeing executives in those seats and they can ride their "safe" capsule back to Earth. Lets see them put their own lives on the line for a change.
