Cameras rely on passive (i.e. reflected) light, and thus are inherently fooled by reflections, poor lighting conditions, and other conditions. LIDAR generates its own light source which is not without its own issues, but is absolutely required for full (i.e. 100% no intervention required) autonomy. Waymo knows this; Musk is in denial about it.

Cable companies are trapped in their revenue model that depends on physically wiring the house. The new paradigm frees this cost since one only needs internet. It takes time to flush out the old revenue model.

All the worse because we are now on a global scale where virtually every other country suffers a lower standard of living than us - which means they will work for less. If you are relaxed at work or looking for something to do, start worrying.
