In 2x/(x+1), the larger x becomes, the less important the "+1" becomes. (like, as a percentage)
So if x is really big, then x+1 is still approximately the same value.
Just plug in some values. with x=3, you get 6/4
But with x=1,000,000, you get 1.999998
