Journal TechnoLust's Journal: TL to BoA: GET YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES!!! 17

As I mentioned, BoA bought out MBNA and caused me some headaches. So after figuring out I have to log into BoA's site with my MBNA credentials to pay my card, I went to Customer Service and sent a secured message to them and provided my email address as a response. I also provided my Usernames (but not passwords) and asked them if they could combine my accounts. Obviously they are both under my real name with my current address. An idiot could look at the two, drool on himself a little and say, "Duh... geez yeah, doze is da same person's accounts." I received this back. Notice the instruction telling me how to get help. EmPHAsis mine.

  • Happened to me when they bought Nations Bank back around 2000. Having grown up in LA, which has had BofA for years, I knew what retarded moron's they were, and switched banks right away.
  • I have heard too many horror stories about BoA to ever consider doing business with them. I would plan to be rid of them as soon as it is feasible for you to do so.

Jup...I ditched BofA after banking with them for nearly 10 years...because all of a sudden I had a 'service charge' on my checking account for it not having a $500 balance...
I walked in the same day, asked them to revoke the charge, closed the account and walked next door to Wells Fargo where I've been ever since...
Have seriously been considering moving my online banking to Washington Mutual though...from all I've heard they have a great online banking portal...WF's isn't so great...but it works, and I can
  • ...at how this company became so stupid. Maybe it is because I have never dealt with the company on a national level like it seems you are having to through the website, but I opened up my first bank account when I was like 7 with Nations Bank here in Virginia and been through them all the way up to the current Bank of America and I have never had any major problems with them. And any problems I have had, I walk into the branch and deal with someone face to face and have never come away dissappointed. *shru
    • Oh, I'm adept at getting what I want. My philosophy is that I shouldn't have to struggle for a company I do business with to make it easier on me to pay them. If you want my money, make it hassle-free for me to give it to you. if I have to sign into the SAME WEBSITE with multiple IDs, then there's something wrong.
      • BoA is one of the biggest outsourcers of tech jobs to India. That may be where the emails are coming from :)
        • Do they outsource to Mexico or Latin America? Because as far as I know, Rodriguez is NOT an Indian name. :-)

The company I work for is an outsourcer, and we will build a call-center wherever labor is cheap. Yes, we have a call center in Mexico. And Ghana. And India. And China. And Oregon.

If the people are willing to work cheap, we'll set up shop there (as long as the country isn't ripe for civil war, mind you).

We do call centers here in the US for those customers who want to pay more for the right to say they haven't shipped jobs out.

I don't think we have the BoA contract. But if you have a student loan, our pe

            • Much to the chagrin of phishers, I don't have a Student Loan. I got several emails from one phisher insisting that if I didn't click the link immediately I'd have to pay off my entire student loan amount. That was fine with me, since I went to college on full tuition academic scholarship. :-)

The company I work for has several lines of business. Student loan processing (and paperwork in general) is one of those lines of business. Another is call centers.

Although we have a call center in Mexico - it has been downsized, as other countries have cheaper labor. Anyway - all that was to say that indeed, the job could have been outsourced to M. Rodriguez in Mexico City.

                • That may be the case... the email auto-response said that they would respond in 12 hours, and it's been more than that... thir response must be having a hard time getting over the border.
          • Neither is "George", but that is the name of the guy with a thick indian accent who called me the other day trying to get me to get more services from comcast.

I'll go back an extra generation: I started with Maryland National, who was bought by Nationsbank, etc.

The only reasons I stick with them are that I know MANY of the bank tellers and branch managers local to me, and the ATM closest and most convenient to my house is one of theirs. OTOH, since I never carry cash, I should reevaluate.
  • I have a used-to-be-MBNA card as well and just went through a round of hell with BoA. I had planned to cancel the card anyway when BoA took over as soon as the balance was paid. I set up my account to be paid automatically twice a month in December. They however seem to not understand how that works and I noticed a $29 fee on there for a missing payment last month. And funny enough, they had automatically withdrawn one payment, but completely failed to take the payments out for January.

    I went around in
    • Yeah, I opened the BoA checking account when I first moved to ATL. I moved here for a job after being out of work for 6 months. I'd blown through all my savings during that time, so after paying that months bills I had about $53 in my account in TN. So I took what was left of my first paycheck (after paying a deposit and first and last months' rent on an apartment) to BoA and opened a checking account with it. I got my second paycheck and deposited it just before I sent out the check for my Feb. bills.

  • I've got a former MBNA credit card, and already had checking, etc. with BoA, and I've still got two different online accounts setup. It's amazing to think how much money they blow in unnecessary costs due to stuff like this...
    • Only 1 thing to do... run up the credit card, withdraw all the money, and move to Columbia to become a drug lord. Or... I guess I could bitch some more until they fix it.

Within a computer, natural language is unnatural.
