Journal TechnoLust's Journal: Landed safely in Cali. Today not a good day to fly. 8

I was very disappointed, as there were no Muthafuckin' snakes on my muthafuckin' plane. SlashChick scooped me up at the airport over 2 hours later than planned since my plane was delayed due to thunderstorms in ATL. OH yeah, and don't try to take cologne on in your carry on bag. They will take it away. My syringe full of epinephrine however, they didn't even flinch at.

Landed safely in Cali. Today not a good day to fly.

  • I have to fly back home from Florida tomorrow and I'm dreading it. I have a 7:55am flight, and I'm flying with my pregnant wife and son. I'm wondering how bad the lines are going to be flying out of Palm Beach tomorrow.
    • I flew from NY to Texas today. No problems at all. I only spent about 2 minutes in the security screening line, if that. I fly at least 4 to 6 times a month to and from NY, and to be honest, this was the easiest and quickest of them all.
  • Did you bring toothpaste / deodorant in your carry on? Basic toiletries are the one logistics thing that has me worried. Laptop, cell, and other gear were OK as carry on, right?

Cellphones were out yesterday flying from Paris to the UK, but apparently [mercurynews.com] they'd be OK on flights within the US at the moment. The UK rules seem extremely tight, but the US ones aren't as bad - for now...

    • I was able to put everything in a checked bag, yes. Just make sure there are NO LIQUIDS in your carry on. A bottle of water has to be finished before you board the plane, you can't take it on with you even if you bought it in from the airport. Cell phone, laptop, iPod, Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones, chargers, etc all went with me in the carry on.
  • And I sincerely hope that things are moving smoothly by then. Probably will be easy heading out as I'm flying out of Savannah (very small airport), but I'm dreading the flight back out of SFO the following Monday night.
  • it's not like you could hurt anyone by jamming a syringe in his neck and pumping him full of epi, but that cologne! Man! That's dangerous.
