Journal TechnoLust's Journal: And my parents wonder why I want to move away... 17
So I'm driving home yesterday. After the 3rd person pulled out in front of me (remember, I don't have a car, so I'm driving my truck which has my boat behind it, which makes it hard to stop suddenly) and stopped to make a turn 50 yards down the road, I was already feeling anxious to leave. Then I'm going through a small town between the city I live in and the one I work in. They'd just built a new Dollar General* store. In a town this small, a DG is a splendid thing, so of course they built it right beside a 4 lane highway on a little hill so it could shine out its inexpensive goodness on all the people below. So I'm driving by and I see a rather large woman in some kind of pink thing running down the hill toward the highway, away from her minivan and the other very large woman who was standing there holding a 50 pound bag of cat food looking puzzled. I breifly wondered what would puzzle her so and why the other woman would be running toward the road. I've taken enough physics and seen enough comedy movies and skits to realize that the women's shopping cart has escaped and was rolling toward the very busy road. I looked for the cart to see what manner of stuff they had in it, and so I'd be sure to see her newly acquired trinkets explode when someone in an SUV slammed into the cart. I found the cart and saw that it contained her 2-3 year old daughter, who thought it was the best ride ever. She caught up to it right as it rolled into traffic. Fortunately the guy in that lane was paying attention and stopped before crushing her.
*At this point I would normally make a joke about them sponsering a car in NASCAR as indicated on their website and somehow work NeeNee3 into it, but she's lost her sense of humor recently so I will be nice and not mention it.... oops.

My first car was a full sized blazer which was rather rusted out, had a banged up front bumper, and would make quite an impression on anything less than a semi. Even then folks would pull out infront of me! I wouldn't have much hope for folks being any more clever simpley by moving.
