You are mistaken, each turbo is linked to it's own exhaust port (not intake port). It allows the small turbo to spool up faster, then they open the other port to allow the big turbo to spool.

There is another side to the japan story regarding conformism, authority etc.
-Unlimited detainment without shown cause.
-99% conviction/confession rates.
-Search and seizure without warrant.
-Tentacle porn, and females with voices 20 octaves too high.
The place clearly puts up with about anything.
