Exactly. Lots of people criticizing D-Link here, but it's not as though the devices are still supported or just went EOL. They've been EOL for years.
Show us the vendor that provides security fixes for a product nearly five years after's EOL'd.
If you stick to your stance you won't be able to buy any products because NO vendor does that.
Much easier said than done. A lot of due diligence is involved in making something open source and if they used any proprietary code from a third party in the product then they can't open source that.
People use VMware all the time. VMs are more appropriate than containers for many tasks.
