Journal Stargoat's Journal: Conservatives are the ruin of the Republic 6

1. Conservatives are traitors. Louis Libby outed Valerie Plame, and it is becoming increasing evident that the key presidential aid Karl Rove was also involved. It has been suggested that Dick Cheney was also involved, supplying Plame's name to Libby with orders to give her name to the press. This means that the Bush Administration systematically tried to destroy a CIA agent, and put years of field work at risk. After doing this, the Bush Administration attempted to cover up what they had done with an organized conspiracy.

2. Conservatives are lying cowardly crooks. Tom DeLay broke finance laws in Texas and has been indicted as a result. DeLay, a man who calls himself Hammer, claims that everyone breaks the law. I speed, but when I get caught, I pay the ticket. DeLay broke finance laws, but will not pay the piper. Instead, he begins an assault on a man's character and background. DeLay tries to avoid trial, afraid that twelve Americans citizens will find him guilty of the crimes he committed.

3. Conservatives destroyed a city. The installation of Michael Brown as the head of FEMA was a mistake that cost lives. Brown was clearly not up to the job. But instead of admitting that and moving on, the conservative community has attacked honest Governor Blanco and the mayor of a city destroyed by a hurricane. The conservative press ran lies about "animals" destroying a city through rape and murder, something that did not happen. Now, when the city is to be rebuilt, the contracts go to the corrupt friends of the administration.

4. Conservatives are destoying the economy. Oil prices are higher than at any point since crisises of the '70s. The reason for this is a combination of gouging of oil companies and an insane foreign policy. Bush invaded the second largest oil producing country in the world without a plan, and has increased the price of oil twofold. (But Staarrrrrgoat, there is increased demand - Not that much demand. But but Staarrrrrgoat, there have been hurricanes. - And who has been denying global warming exists for 25 years? But but but Staarrrrrgoat, there are not any oil refineries - Republicans have held the presidency for 5 of the last 7 administrations, that there are no new refineries are the conservatives' fault. Of course, the record income of oil companies may have something to do with that as well.) Additionally, conservatives are spending like drunken sailors with a stolen credit card. There is out of control spending in Washington on a war started on a lie, tax cuts for the wealthy, increased megacorporate assistance, and a non-bid pig trough for the President's friends. Meanwhile, mortgage rates rise, price of the standard of living shoots to the moon, and the minimum wage stays the same.

5. Republicans are killing American soldiers. The war in Iraq was played to the American people as a defense against nuclear weapons and an alliance between Al Qaeda and Iraq. This turns out to be lies. The Bush Administration claimed to have special knowledge it could not share. There was no knowledge. It was simply lies. The United States entered Iraq without a grand strategy. Now, two thousand innocent Americans are dead. These are Americans who believed that they were fighting and dying for an ideal greater than George Bush rewarding his oil hungry friends.

6. Conservatives are attacking the United States Supreme Court. Harriet Meirs was nominated by the President. But conservatives could not even allow her to reach the Senate Judicial Committee. There was complete arrogance towards a process defined in the Constitution. She was not biased enough for the Conservative Republicans. They will not be pleased until there are nine priests on the Supreme Court forcing the country to adopt a Protestant White Male Heterosexual Old Testament Vengeful God. It is obvious Conservatives do not care about Catholics, Women, Liberals, Poor People, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, and anyone who does not speak with a southern accent. Conservatives seek to turn the United States into a theocracy like Iran.

7. Conservatives are destroying American culture. There have been attacks on the children's holiday of Halloween by Conservatives. Conservatives try to pass insane amendments to protect a piece of canvas, hating the Bill of Rights the entire time. The attacks on the ACLU, an organization that exists solely to protect the Constitution, stink in the nostrils of real Americans. Conservatives are mocking the Constitution, what it stands for, and the Founding Fathers.

8. Conservatives are destroying America's youth. There are lies sponsored by the Conservative government on TV that say smoking marijuana somehow leads to terrorism. These same liars want to remove education about human anatomy and replace it with a slogan, "just say no to sex." They make up lies about Intelligent Design, ignoring the scientific method, and Science itself. The Chinese make leaps and bounds every day in rocketry and space exploration, the South Koreans are pulling ahead in the biological sciences, but the Conservative congress restricts US access to fundamental modern sciences for fundamentalist Christian belief.

The United States is being ruined by Conservatives. Modern Conservatism is the greatest threat faced by America since the Civil War. These people are intent upon destroying the Republic and replacing it with a theocracy. Americans cannot be blind to this threat. It is time to face the danger to the Great Experiment posed by these evil men.
