Comment Re: Not a fan of infinite scroll (Score 1) 46

I hate it so much. When I use twitter, where I've used userscripts to basically delete the 'for you' feed so I only get posts from people I follow chronologically, sometimes I'll open posts to check later or read replies separately, etc. If I click the wrong link or god forbid accidentally close the tab instead of hitting back, I lose my place and it can sometimes take ages to get back to it, and that's assuming it actually loads everything when I scroll quickly, which it often fails to do. Pagination is just straight up a better user experience.

500GB download assuming you upload as much as you download...

Furthermore, there is no on or off peak on that internode plan. It's a flat terabyte, anytime.

Add to that the fact that your upload speed will usually be 1/10th or less than your download speed and it doesn't seem too bad unless you're a super heavy user. I manage to burn my way through most or all of 200GB a month pretty easily.

All the Rutherglen wineries are fantastic. I think I've tried that Tokay, I remember the guy who I talked to when I was tasting it told me about the situation with the naming, I don't recall what the replacement name was but I know it was stupid.

I'm also disappointed at the ban on the name "port". I rarely drink but when I do it's usually port. Next time I feel like a bottle I won't know what to buy!

I use twitter, not so much for tweeting as for following others. I find twitter is very useful - not for following friends and family, but for following certain companies, people etc who give small bites of useful/interesting information that lends itself well to the microblogging format.

I'm going to be pwning noobs until "pwning noobs" is a ridiculously outdated term and then I'll beat my grandkids at whatever game they're playing and I'll go "Yeah! I pwned you little noobs! Old school!" and they'll groan and go "graaaaandpaaaaaa". It'll be awesome.

Is it bad that I want to troll my hypothetical grandkids?

Ahahah, I remember when I thought high school teachers knew basic math as well. Those were the days.

I went to a public school and got anywhere from 1-3 hours homework per class per day. Which is anywhere from 5-15 hours worth. Never did any of it myself, of course, because there were no real consequences for me besides the odd half lunch detention and I aced all tests anyway. Fuck them if they think I'll do their inane work. If I'm doing inane work I'd better be getting paid for it.

Good ol' public schools.
