Supporting them further isn't going to change the dynamic of the outcome. They thought that simply getting these people through college was the "secret". Now they are out of college, and though certainly better off, they still under perform their wealthier academic peers.
The fixers and their studies refuse to "see" that the causation is connectedness. It's not simply because you have a BA. You succeed because you have a BA, or better, AND you've got connections to other people of wealth.
When you hit the streets and start looking for a job with your Pell Grant BA, good luck to you. It is not the same job hunt as daddy saying; go meet my old so-and-so, Reginald, over at Dewey Screwem & Howe. He should be able to find something for you. If he doesn't have anything, I'm sure he can connect you to someone who does. Boom, you're in, even at the ground floor, with wealthier and more connected people. Your network is vastly superior now and into the future, as compared to the unconnected door knocker.
Do you think George Bush, Bill Clinton, DJT are top of their class geniuses rising to power through skill and osmosis? Or do you think that they were adequately intelligent, but highly connected?
And I'm not talking about nepotism. I simply saying that when you're running in circles that expose you to better opportunities, you'll do better. This social networking aspect of life is one of the reasons why university grads of any walk do better than high school grads. The university graduates meet and connect with more better people.
